Say the thing
A useful accountant is the one who tells you what you did not want to hear, while it can still be put right.
The practice
OAC is the name under which Cabinet Skander Bouassida & Associés practises, in Jardin de Carthage, Tunis. Organisation, Audit, Consulting: the three words in the logo describe fairly well what the practice has done since 2005.
We keep the books of businesses established in Tunisia, audit the accounts of those required to be audited, handle their tax and payroll, and support people forming a company. The practice works for Tunisian companies and for subsidiaries of foreign groups alike.
On a simple principle: the client speaks to somebody who knows the file. The practice has stayed at a size where that is possible, and that is a choice rather than a limit imposed on us. A file that changes hands every year loses exactly what makes an accountant valuable, which is memory.
Twenty-one years leave a specific trail. The practice acts as signing statutory auditor, after years spent as a manager on insurance, private equity and industrial engagements. Audit work follows the international standards of the IFAC as adopted by the Council of the Tunisian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
The practice is registered with the Tunisian Institute of Chartered Accountants. That registration imposes rules on independence, competence and professional secrecy, and separates advisory work strictly from statutory audit. Those rules protect the client as much as the profession.

A useful accountant is the one who tells you what you did not want to hear, while it can still be put right.
Tax and social deadlines are not negotiable. They sit in our calendar so that you do not have to keep them in yours.
A five minute question should not wait a week. The telephone is answered by somebody who can give you an answer.
We keep the history of your years and we use it. That is what makes an audit, a sale or a funding round far less painful.
